When it comes to candidate data, keeping it confidential and secure is of the utmost importance. To help supercharge the security of your recruitment process, bring in a solution to take your efforts to the next level.
At Heras, they focus on making the world a safer place with their products, and they want to bring the same internal mindset - to provide a safe and enjoyable candidate experience.
A safer world with perimeter protection
Heras is a leading end-to-end supplier for perimeter protection solutions, including permanent and temporary fencing, entrance control, and detection systems. With a wide range of clients across Europe, their vision is to be the premium brand in the market while achieving their mission of making the world a safer place for everyone.
To achieve these lofty goals, Heras needed to assemble a team of great people. Heras started out by outsourcing the recruitment process via an RPO (recruitment process outsourcing) agency that handled the process from start to hire.
With a desire to bring the process more in-house, Heras hired two Corporate Recruiters to begin the search for an ATS (applicant tracking system) and discovered Recruitee.
Before using Recruitee as an ATS, our costs were twice as high as they are now.
Bart van den Akker, Corporate Recruiter at Heras
Why Recruitee was the only choice
Being a perimeter protection company, security is a top priority for Heras’ products and also for their internal processes. They realized they needed a plug-and-play solution for their business to grow. Heras chose to work with Recruitee and they were up and running within a few days.
One of the main reasons for choosing Recruitee was because of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and automation features that keep them compliant, especially being a European company in the security system supplier industry.
Heras wanted a solution to facilitate their international hiring efforts and improve the overall recruitment process. This was necessary because Heras does business across Europe, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Sweden. Due to the success in the Netherlands, they will soon roll out this system in the United Kingdom!
Another goal for this rollout was to make the hiring process more efficient, and in turn, create a more enjoyable candidate experience. Everyone would get back time, and the recruiters would have a clear overview of which candidates need to be contacted, who needs feedback, or who is ready to move on to the next stage or not.
The candidate experience has gotten a lot better, the efficiency internally and also the speed in which a candidate can go through the hiring funnel has increased a lot.
Koen Kemper, Corporate Recruiter
Growing the team while staying secure
The recruitment process within Heras currently starts with a request from the hiring manager and when it gets approved by the hiring management department, then the recruiters work collaboratively with the hiring manager(s) and get a little more detail on the vacancy itself and create an ideal candidate profile. Based on that, the recruitment team can write up the job description and then publish it on their career site and start the sourcing process.
After that, candidates come into Recruitee, and via the pipeline that was designed for the specific vacancy, the top candidates will move on to the interviews and beyond.
Recruitee has helped Heras’ hiring processes by giving a clear overview for the hiring team. Now everyone knows exactly where a candidate is in the process, and what phases are next which provides a lot of clarity for hiring managers.
It’s better to hire together
Collaborative hiring is the cornerstone of everything we do at Recruitee and Heras is benefitting from it. Features like candidate notes, pipelines, and visibility based on the role make Bart and Koen’s daily lives easier.
Per vacancy, it’s easy for them to determine who can see which jobs or candidate profiles and more. All of the control lies with the recruiters (administrators), but the rest of the hiring team can easily be included in the interviewing and hiring process.
As a Corporate Recruiter, Recruitee makes it really easy for me to stay in the lead and decide who gets to see what and control the whole process.
Koen Kemper, Corporate Recruiter
With team notes, you can see what you discussed with the candidate, what the wishes are for the role, and the hiring manager can immediately see that and make an opinion about if we would like to invite the candidate to an interview or make an offer later on in the process.
Candidates keeping recruiters on their toes
In the near future, Heras is planning to expand the extent of the use of Recruitee. The hiring managers are starting to hire more collaboratively. But they want to expand that to the entire organization within the Netherlands, and also then implement the system in the other countries across Europe.
As the Heras team starts expanding and growing the European team, they are going to be faced with an abundance of open positions and applicants, so candidates need to stand out from the rest of the crowd. Koen shared one such example when a candidate thought outside of the box:
"The most original application that I've gotten in Recruitee so far, is from a candidate that applied with a PowerPoint presentation. He explained who he was, both in his personal life and in business, and explained why he would be perfect for the role. I thought that was a really original way of advocating for a job.”
